• Frame guides for social media. Facebook, Youtube, Instagram and Twitter each have different aspect ratios and AtomOS 9.3 adds new frame guide options so that social media content will always be properly composed and fit the different formats. 1:1 and 1.91:1.1 for Facebook, Twitter and Instagram videos. Portrait Instagram mode is catered for with a 4:5 ratio guide. 9:16 for Instagram stories/TV, Snapchat and YouTube.

• 9 Grid overlay. Perfect for applying the rule of thirds theory to image composition.

• 17:9 DCI Letterbox support. Support for SDI inputs with a 4096 x 2160 or 2048 x 1080 resolution and HDMI inputs with a 4096 x 2160 resolution can be displayed in a 17:9 aspect ratio.

• Legalise input signal levels. Ability to specify input Luminance range, for increased compatibility with devices outputting legal range YUV signals in Rec.709. The Input menu option allows for the input to be set to ‘Legalize ON/OFF’.

• Rolling File naming. Scene, Shot and Take file names allow users to accurately name planned shots as if using a conventional slate. This firmware update adds the ability to maintain continuous rolling file naming after re-formatting a drive. This function can be turned on or off in the file naming menu.

• Addition of Anamorphic de-squeeze modes. With the increase in the use of Anamorphic lenses in productions Atomos have added: 1.8x providing the ability to de-squeeze on full frame sensors and 1.25x providing the ability to de-squeeze lenses such as Ultra Panavision 70 and Panavision Ultra Panatar lenses.

• False color IRE % Percentage labelling has been added to the false colour scale.

• Interlaced Display mode. This mode is intended for use when receiving interlaced inputs. The option is accessed via the Blue Menu button > Display options > and selecting ITNL button. The feature is off by default. When connecting an interlaced signal a message will be displayed to highlight the option. The option is turned on when the icon is displayed in white. Note; This function is for the display of interlaced inputs to reduce the possibility of LCD burn in. This option is for display purposes only and has no effect on recording. This mode has no effect on Progressive inputs.
